Cindy Mummert has twenty-five years of classroom teaching experience at the middle school, high school, and college levels. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education (BSE) in Mathematics at Millersville University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology at Lehigh University. As a classroom teacher, she worked with students of diverse levels and learning styles. Since leaving the classroom, Cindy has worked for a tutoring company where she supported students in math and prepared students for success on the SAT and ACT.
Cindy now works with students through her math tutoring business, Mum Tutors Math LLC. She tutors students in grades 6-12 and college -- covering all middle school math subjects, PreAlgebra, Algebra 1-2, College Algebra, Geometry, PreCalculus, and Calculus. Cindy teaches students in all learning environments: public school, private school, cyberschool, and homeschool. In September through May, she teaches middle school and high school students in a homeschool pod two mornings per week.
Cindy works with each student to make math meaningful and accessible. This includes rewording math terminology into everyday language, making math visual, and guiding students to create annotated examples to use for reference. Cindy empowers students to recognize how they learn and what works best for them.
